Chiranjeevi ready to go back to acting

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

The Praja Rajyam president, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, said he was ready to go back to acting if the film industry and the people required him.

Speaking to this newspaper on Tuesday, Mr Chiranjeevi said that for him acting again would not be that easy. “It requires a lot of energy again. I have to be convinced that my body would permit me to act again.”

He said that only NTR could act in films again after entering the political arena. “If only I have NTR’s stamina, I would be really lucky. Let us see, I am ready if the time demands,” he said, without ruling out the possibility of him acting again.

Earlier, speaking to reporters, the PR chief termed the TD president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, as a “good marketing manager.” “We are sweating out each day for the people’s good. But, we failed to market our ability and hard work, whereas Mr Naidu knew the art of promoting himself even for little or no progress. Despite my charisma, I am lagging behind in this aspect,” he said. Replying to a question, Mr Chiranjeevi said that he would initiate steps to introduce a toll free number for the people of his constituency in Tirupati to reach him directly.

Meanwhile, Mr Chiranjeevi said that the agitation for separate Telangana would fade out soon.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the PR chief observed that the leaders who were behind the separatist movement were perturbed. “Any movement which has not been born from a public spirit will never survive for long. If it is really from the public, it doesn’t require any leadership to guide it. At the same time, no leader can cheer up a vanishing agitation.”
