Akkineni Award to be presented to Lata Mangeshkar

Prestigious Akkineni Award is to be presented to Bharata Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. She was chosen for this annual award for year 2009. She will be felicitated with this award at a special ceremony to be held on February 1st in Hyderabad. Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, on whose name the award was instituted by Akkineni International Foundation owned by his family members, announced award today (January 25, 2010) at a press meet held at Annapoorna Studios in Hyderabad. Past winners of the award include Deva Anand and Vyjayanthi Mala Bali.
