Wanted Prakashraj

Monday, June 8, 2009

Actor Prakash Raj was in Bangkok recently to complete the shoot of his Hindi film, Wanted: Dead and Alive.

The film, directed by Prabhu Deva, is a remake of Vijay’s Pokkiri. The actor plays the role of the villain, which he also played in the Telugu and Tamil versions of the film.

Recently, critics had ripped apart his performance in Thoranai, in which he played a gangster’s role with the same expressions and body language that he had attempted in his earlier films.

We hear that the actor plays such clichéd villain roles only because it enables him to produce quality movies like Mozhi and Abhiyum Naanum. Prakash Raj claims that he wants to do different types of roles and experiment. However, at the same time, he has to do commercial films to fulfill his ambitions. He still remains the number one villain in south Indian cinema. So, will he choose class or mass? Or will he find a way to balance both these categories? Only time will tell. TOI
