AMIR KHAN - PASSION OF TODAY

Aamir Hussain Khan, the PET-SHOP boy of the bollywood, was born 14 March 1965 to Tahir and Zeena Hussain into a family of his elder bro Faizal who is a VJ and an actor and two sisters Nikhat and Farhad.

Aamir Khan, who is called AK everywhere, has, though his first movie was Holi, been introduced into the films as a Hero in 1988 with all time musical hit "QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK" - the numbers of which can still be heard around. AK, being the gentle man and heart throb in the industry, has acted in front of the camera almost with all the heroines and the performance in all his movies is always beyond expectation. In 1996, he has got the "Best Actor" award for his outstanding performance in "Raja Hindustani" which was a smash hit at the box office and Aamir has placed himself among the top heroes of the Bollywood.


Aamir is not just an actor. He likes literature a lot and whenever he finds his time, he enjoys reading the writings of Leo Tolstoy.

He is married to Reena and has been blessed with two.

In Bollywood, Aamir definitely has a place for his looks and his unique style in the films.

5' 5" tall, Aamir, is a versatile actor who works for passion more than money. Aamir chooses his roles well. Consequently, you do not see him in too many movies. He does not do more than one movie at a time.

Aamir has now gravitated towards production and direction. Lagaan, his debut as a producer, was an outstanding film that almost made it to the Oscars.

Aamir Khan appeared as a celebrity guest on Zee SaReGaMaPA L'il Champs 2007, Saturday, December 08 to promote his children oriented film "Taare Zameen Par". He promoted his film 'Taare Zameen Par' on Children's Day, November 14, with a two hour talk show on Radio Mirchi.

Aamir Kahn launched Ted Lapidus store at Bandra in Mumbai on Nov 16th 2007.

Aamir Khan got marreid to Kiran Rao on Dec 28, 2006 in Panchgani, Maharashtra.

Indian freedom fighter, Mangal Pandey's descendants Raghunath and Omkar Nath Pandey, have filed a case in New Delhi Court against the movie Mangal Pandey. The petition is about 'historical distortion of the fact' saying the portrayal of the freedom fighter in the movie is in bad taste and the movie screening should be stopped. Advocate Siddiqui has pointed out that the visit of Mangal Pandey to the brothel and his friendship with a British officer in the story is not in line with the images of the hero.

Aamir Khan is the Toyota brand ambassador. Toyota Kirloskar Motor India (a joint venture between Kirloskar Group and Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan) will be the third brand to be endorsed by Aamir Khan, after Coca-Cola and Titan watches.

Amir Khan turned 40 on March 14, 2005.
