Siddharth, Shriya starrer upcoming international film has a new name. He has signed for an important role in Canadian writer-director Deepa Mehta’s international production ‘Midnight’s Children’. The film is based on a book of same name written by Booker Prize winner Salman Rushdie. The film’s title has been renamed as Winds of Change. The huge case ensemble also includes names such as Irrfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Soha Ali Khan, Rahul Bose, Nandita Das among many others. The film will soon go on floors.
'Midnight's Children' depicts the incidents before and after the independence and the partition of India through the eyes of protagonist Saleem Sinai, whose birthday coincides with the birth of independent India on August 15, 1947. Deepa Mehta had earlier made films like Earth, Fire and Water. Her film, Water was one of the five Oscar nominees in the ‘Best Foreign Film’ category in 2005.
