The runaway success of Ala Modalaindi has gotten better and sweeter. After striking the bull’s eye at the box office in Andhra Pradesh, this small budget wonder will soon be remade in Tamil. A leading Tamil film producer has bagged the remake rights for a whopping sum of close to Rs. 50 lakhs. For a film which was made on a budget of around Rs 3 crores, this is a huge amount for remake rights. Nani, Nithya Menon, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Rohini and others starred in the film which was helmed by debutant director, Nandini Reddy. Kalyani Malik had scored the music. The cast and crew of the Tamil remake are yet to be announced. Interestingly, Nani and Nithya would soon be making their debut in Tamil in Anjali Alikhan’s Veppam. It remains to be seen if they are going to reprise their roles in the Tamil version of Ala Modalaindi as well. Kudos to the entire team of the film.
