Government announced Padma Awards for this year. Indian cricketer, VVS Laxman has been awarded the Padma Shri for his outstanding performance in Indian cricket. Laxman is the one of the finest batsmen of Indian test cricket, known for pulling off India out of many crisis situations. The wristy batsman played a major part in helping India draw their first ever Test series in South Africa recently. Bollywood veteran actress Vaheeda Rehman and Music Director Khayyum gets Padmabhushan.
